The same team prepares GGSIPU important questions for each course it covers.

How to write BBA 109 answers: definition-first short answers, theory critiques and Indian-example long answers

The BBA 109 notes build every answer on a definition, a structure and one Indian example. For "define entrepreneur", give Cantillon (risk), Schumpeter (innovation) and Drucker (opportunity), then your own line.

Unit I theory answers follow one pattern: thinker and book with year, core idea, example, criticism. Close each with the integrated approach (economic, social and psychological factors together). In Unit II, draw an ETOP or PEST table for one business. A common slip the notes flag: putting Incubation after Illumination.

Worked example: break-even numerical (Unit II, page 35)

Fixed cost Rs 1,20,000; selling price Rs 50 per unit; variable cost Rs 30 per unit. Find the break-even point.

  1. Contribution per unit = 50 minus 30 = Rs 20.
  2. BEP (units) = 1,20,000 divided by 20 = 6,000 units.
  3. BEP (Rs) = 6,000 x 50 = Rs 3,00,000 (P/V ratio 40%).

Divide fixed cost by contribution, never by selling price. Practise this format on the GGSIPU BBA important questions.

BBA 109 and the GGSIPU BBA Sem 1 papers it connects to

BBA 109 has no separate lab; every Sem 1 paper's units are on the GGSIPU BBA syllabus page. Five Sem 1 papers meet BBA 109 at specific points:

  • BBA 107 Business Economics: its cost concepts (Unit II) sit behind the break-even formulas on page 32.
  • BBA 105 Financial Accounting and Analysis: final accounts feed the projected statements in the financial plan.
  • BBA 101 Management Process and Organizational Behavior: its motivation unit links to McClelland's n-Ach theory.
  • BBA 113 IT Applications in Business: presentation software and Excel build the Unit IV pitch deck.
  • BBA 111 Life Skills and Personality Development (NUES): group-discussion practice helps in the four discussion practicals.

The remaining Sem 1 papers are BBA 103 Business Mathematics and BBA 115 IT Applications in Business Lab.

Idea vs opportunity in venture promotion: excerpt from page 24 of the BBA 109 notes

Excerpt from page 24

Page 24 opens with the promotion chain that the whole of Unit II follows. A venture moves through seven steps: idea generation, opportunity identification and analysis, environment scanning, feasibility study, business plan, resource mobilisation, and finally launch and growth. Each step answers one question before the next one starts, so a weak idea is dropped early instead of after money is spent.

Idea vs opportunity

Not every idea is a business opportunity. An idea is only a thought or concept. An opportunity is an idea with a real market need, enough customers willing to pay, and the potential to earn a profit within a given time. Turning ideas into opportunities is the job of opportunity analysis.

The notes make the difference concrete: "an app to share notes" is only an idea, while a paid exam-notes platform for two lakh GGSIPU students with no good competitor is an opportunity, because it names a market, a price and a gap.

Four marks of a good opportunity (Jeffry Timmons)

  • Attractive: customers want it and demand is large enough.
  • Durable: it lasts long enough to earn returns.
  • Timely: the window of opportunity is open now.
  • Value-adding: it creates value for the buyer or end user.

Window of opportunity

The window is the limited period during which a market gap stays open. Enter too early and customers are not ready; enter too late and competitors have already taken the market. Food-delivery apps are the notes' example: they entered India when smartphones and cheap data spread between 2014 and 2016.

BBA 109 entrepreneurship notes FAQs

How do I get the full BBA 109 notes?

The full BBA 109 notes come only as a printed book, not as a PDF. Tap "Get Full Notes" or the WhatsApp button at the end of this page and send the pre-filled message; our team confirms the order and delivery on WhatsApp. The 66-page book covers all four units. Check the sample PDF first.

Is BBA 109 Entrepreneurial Mindset a NUES paper, and what does that mean?

Yes. The BBA scheme lists BBA 109 as "Entrepreneurial Mindset (NUES)", a 2-credit Ability Enhancement Course in Semester 1. For a NUES paper, your own institute does the evaluation, so the university does not set a separate paper for it. In practice that means class tests, assignments, presentations and viva, which the notes prepare you for.

What is the passing mark for BBA 109?

BBA 109 is a NUES paper, and the official BBA scheme does not print a separate marks split or pass mark for it, so we do not state a figure. Your institute evaluates it and explains how marks are given for tests, assignments and the presentation. For university rules on evaluation, results and re-appear, read Ordinance 11 on ipu.ac.in.

Do the BBA 109 notes cover the Unit IV practicals?

Yes. The BBA 109 notes give Unit IV fifteen pages: a 12-slide pitch-deck plan, a Startup India project format, four sets of discussion points and six Indian entrepreneur case studies, plus a file checklist. They are study notes for preparing your own presentation and file, not a ready file to submit as your own work.

Which BBA 109 unit is the longest in the notes?

Unit I is the longest part of the BBA 109 notes at 18 pages (pages 5 to 22). It also has the most solved questions: 8 short-answer and 6 long-answer. Units II and IV run 15 pages each and Unit III 13 pages, so the theory units carry most of the solved written questions in the book.

Does BBA 109 have a separate lab paper?

No. BBA 109 has no paired lab code. Its practical work is Unit IV of the same course (8 teaching hours), covered in the same notes book with 16 viva answers. The only Sem 1 lab in the BBA scheme is BBA 115 IT Applications in Business Lab, which goes with BBA 113, not with BBA 109.
