Key point

Today the relationship between the two is partnership, not only competition. Banks bring trust, a licence and low-cost deposits; FinTechs bring technology, speed and a better customer experience. You can see this in co-lending between banks and NBFCs, in FinTechs issuing co-branded cards with banks, and in neo banks that run on a partner bank's licence.

6.2 Peer-to-peer (P2P) lending

P2P lending is a form of lending in which individual lenders lend money directly to individual or business borrowers through an online platform, without a bank acting as the middleman. The platform only matches lenders with borrowers, checks the borrowers, and collects and distributes the repayments.

Do the BBA 311 notes cover the full GGSIPU syllabus?

Yes. Every topic in the four official units has a matching section. "API-driven Financial Innovations" (Unit IV) sits as sub-section 11.3 on page 74, not as its own index line.

How to write BBA 311 answers: definition-first short answers and diagram-backed fifteen-mark answers

BBA 311 has no numericals: marks come from exact definitions, tables and labelled diagrams.

Two- and three-mark answers: a one-line definition, what it does, then examples, as in the [2] payment-gateway answer naming Razorpay and PayU. A [3] "differentiate" answer must state both sides.

Fifteen-mark answers: the page 7 tip for "scope and importance of FinTech" is definition, 5 to 6 features, a scope table, 8 to 10 importance points, one Indian example and a conclusion, plus the segments diagram. Answer every comparison as a table (page 29 tip).

Worked outline (page 40): What is blockchain? Explain its architecture and working mechanism. [15]

Definition, features, block-structure diagram with a components table (hash, previous hash, genesis block, nonce), types, PoW vs PoS, the seven-step working diagram, then advantages and limitations.

Common mistake (page 37): calling e₹ a cryptocurrency. RBI issues it, its value is fixed and it is legal tender.

After each unit, try this format on GGSIPU BBA important questions.

One question per unit, with answer pointers:

  1. Unit 1: What is the Account Aggregator framework? [3] Pointer: RBI's consent-based data-sharing system (2021): an NBFC-AA passes encrypted data to lenders only with consent.
  2. Unit 2: What is CBDC? Is e₹ a cryptocurrency? [3] Pointer: Central-bank digital money; e₹ is a CBDC, not a crypto.
  3. Unit 3: What is alternate data in credit scoring? [2] Pointer: UPI, GST and bank-statement history used for borrowers with no bureau score.
  4. Unit 4: What is Banking-as-a-Service? [2] Pointer: A licensed bank lends its accounts, cards and KYC to non-banks through APIs.

The BBA 311 notes solve 35 short-answer questions (23 two-mark, 12 three-mark) and outline 24 long-answer questions (21 fifteen-mark, 3 ten-mark) across 4 units, plus 48 MCQs with answers.
