Their 2.5 and 12.5 mark labels follow an older pattern; the 2025-26 paper sets every question at 12 marks.
The MCA-207 notes list 48 short-answer and 32 long-answer exam-style questions across 4 units, plus 72 code examples.
One question per unit, with answer pointers:
- Unit 1: Explain all session tracking techniques with code and compare them. Pointer: cookies, hidden fields, URL rewriting and
HttpSession, then compare storage, data type, cookies-off behaviour and security. - Unit 2: Page-centric or dispatcher design: which is better? Pointer: Model-1 lets each JSP navigate; Model-2 puts a servlet controller in charge, better for large apps.
- Unit 3: Differentiate HQL and SQL. Pointer: HQL uses class and property names (
from Student); the dialect turns it into database SQL. - Unit 4: Explain AOP terms and advice types with a program. Pointer: aspect, join point, advice, pointcut, weaving; five advice annotations;
@Aroundmust callproceed().

Hibernate architecture and its eight components in enterprise Java: excerpt from page 40 of the MCA-207 notes
Excerpt from page 40
What ORM gives you, and what it costs
Object Relational Mapping lets a developer think in objects instead of SQL statements, which raises productivity. There is less code to write and maintain, the same code can move between databases, and caching plus lazy loading improve performance. Relationships and inheritance between classes are also handled in a natural way, without hand-written join logic.
ORM is not free. There is a learning curve, the SQL that the framework generates for complex queries can be slow, debugging takes more effort because the SQL is hidden, and a small application may not need the extra layer at all. Popular ORM tools are Hibernate, EclipseLink, OpenJPA, MyBatis (a semi-ORM) and TopLink.
Hibernate architecture
The notes show the architecture as a diagram (Figure 3.1) and then describe each block. Read the table from top to bottom: configuration builds the factory, the factory opens sessions, and each session does the real work through transactions and queries.
| Component | Role |
|---|---|
Configuration | Reads hibernate.cfg.xml and the mapping files, then builds the SessionFactory. |
SessionFactory | Heavyweight, thread-safe and immutable. One per database, created once at application start. The second-level cache lives here. |
Session | Lightweight and not thread-safe. One per unit of work or request. Wraps a JDBC connection and holds the CRUD methods and the first-level cache. |
Transaction | A unit of work with beginTransaction(), commit() and rollback(); hides whether JDBC or JTA transactions run underneath. |
| Query / Criteria | Fetches data through HQL, native SQL or the Criteria API. |
| Persistent objects | Plain Java classes (entities) whose objects represent database rows. |
| ConnectionProvider | A factory or pool for JDBC connections, such as HikariCP or C3P0. |
| Dialect | Generates SQL for a specific database, for example MySQLDialect or OracleDialect. |

The contrast to remember from this table is the first pair: SessionFactory is heavy and shared across threads, while Session is light and must stay inside a single thread. Swapping these is listed in the notes as a common exam mistake for Unit 3.

- Ritik Rawat, subject reviewer for the servlet, JSP, Hibernate and Spring code: B.Tech; Senior Full Stack Developer, Unnati Educations.
The 2026-27 edition of the MCA-207 Enterprise Computing with JAVA IPU notes follows the MCA scheme approved on 28 July 2025. It uses jakarta.servlet packages, Spring Boot 3 on Java 17 and JPA-style persist() and remove() calls, and was updated on 13 October 2026. Our editorial policy explains how facts and code are checked.
The same team prepares GGSIPU important questions for each course it covers.
MCA-207 and the GGSIPU MCA Sem 3 papers it connects to
Paired lab: MCA-265 Enterprise Computing with JAVA Lab (1 credit), listed as "Lab based on Core Elective II" in the GGSIPU MCA syllabus.
MCA-265 prints course outcomes, not a practical list. Unit 1 servlets and sessions feed lab CO1, Unit 2 JSP and Struts feed CO2, Unit 3 Hibernate feeds CO3, and Unit 4 DI, Spring Boot and AOP feed CO4 and CO5.
- Core papers: MCA-201 Design and Analysis of Algorithms and MCA-203 Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Core Elective III options include: MCA-231 Service Oriented Architecture, MCA-229 Flutter and Dart and MCA-235 Internet of Things.
- Open Elective II options: MCA-249 Research Methodology, MCA-251 Operational Research, MCA-253 Cyber Security and Cyber Laws, MCA-255 e-Content Development.
MCA-231 pairs best with Unit 4, as Spring Web REST controllers are how Java services are built.
How to write MCA-207 answers: diagram-led architecture answers and code-backed twelve-mark answers
MCA-207 questions come in two shapes. Architecture questions (J2EE tiers, JSP processing, Struts flow, Hibernate, Spring modules, Spring MVC) want a labelled diagram first, then numbered steps and the role of each block. Programming questions (servlet life cycle, session tracking, custom tags, CRUD DAO, dependency injection, AOP) want a short, correct listing plus one line on what it does.
The notes' own exam tips push the same habits: give each J2EE tier a real bank or e-commerce example, and number the seven Struts flow steps instead of writing a paragraph. For "differentiate" questions, use a four to six row table, as the notes do for GET vs POST, include directive vs include action and BeanFactory vs ApplicationContext.
Slips the notes flag
- Saying
init()runs per request. - Counting eight JSP implicit objects instead of nine.
- Putting table names inside HQL.
- Calling Session thread-safe.
- Making prototype the default Spring scope.
Worked example: "Explain the servlet life cycle with a diagram and a program."
- Draw the cycle: load and instantiate,
init(),service(),destroy(), garbage collection. - State the counts: one object;
init()anddestroy()run once;service()runs per request on its own thread and callsdoGet()ordoPost(). - Write a 10 to 15 line servlet that prints a line in the constructor,
init(),doGet()anddestroy(). - Close with thread safety: a shared visit counter needs
AtomicIntegerorsynchronized.
Practise this format on the GGSIPU MCA important questions.

How do I get the full MCA-207 notes?
Send a message on WhatsApp to 9899436384 using the Get Full Notes button on this page. The MCA-207 Enterprise Computing with JAVA notes are sold as a printed book only; they are not available as a PDF. Delivery takes 5 to 7 days at most, depending on your location. Our team confirms the order and the delivery details with you on WhatsApp.
What is the passing mark for MCA-207?
MCA-207 is marked out of 100, and its end-term paper carries 60 of those marks (12 + 48). The MCA scheme of examination states pass marks as 40%, which is 40 out of 100, for every paper. The PDF does not print a separate minimum for the end-term paper, so check Ordinance 11 of the university on ipu.ac.in for end-term minimums and re-appear rules.
Is MCA-207 a compulsory paper in MCA Semester 3?
No. MCA-207 is one of 11 papers in the Core Elective II basket, and a student picks one of them. It carries 3 credits with 3 lecture hours a week. The scheme also says that if fewer than 20 students choose an elective, it can still be offered but is completed through a MOOC with prior approval, instead of regular classes.
Do the MCA-207 notes match the 2025-26 MCA syllabus?
Yes. The notes follow the four units of the MCA scheme approved by the USIC&T Board of Studies on 28 July 2025, effective from the 2025-26 academic year. Every official topic, from CGI-Perl problems in Unit I to Spring AOP and Spring Web in Unit IV, has its own section. The syllabus map on this page lists the section and page for each topic.
What language are the MCA-207 notes written in?
The MCA-207 notes explain concepts in easy Hinglish, written in Roman script, while every technical term, class name, annotation and line of code stays in English exactly as you would write it in the exam. Five key topics also open with a short "Simple words mein" box. You can check the style yourself in the sample PDF linked at the top of this page.
Do the MCA-207 notes include the MCA-265 lab practicals?
No. These are theory notes for MCA-207 only. They contain 72 code examples that support the MCA-265 Enterprise Computing with JAVA Lab, such as a login servlet, a custom JSP tag, a Hibernate CRUD DAO and a Spring Boot REST app, but they are not a lab record. Use them to understand the logic and then write and run your own programs for the lab.
