Project submission is an important stage for all IGNOU learners before they complete the program. IGNOU Project Submission is a process that ensures your fieldwork, practical knowledge, or research is evaluated properly as part of your final evaluation. Whether you are pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Diploma, or PG Diploma course – submitting your project report, dissertation, or internship correctly is vital to getting your diploma on time.

IGNOU has simplified submission by introducing online submission for the December 2025 Term End Examination (TEE). This update will help students save time, and they can submit their reports quickly without having to go to the regional center. To ensure that the submissions are accepted, learners must follow certain rules and formats.

IGNOU Programs that require IGNOU Project Submission

IGNOU’s many programs require a project, a dissertation, an internship, or a practicum. These submissions allow you to assess how well the student has applied their theoretical learning in real-life scenarios. The main programs that require submission are listed below:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Programs (BDPs): These include BA, B.Sc., and B.Com. They also have project-based course options.
  • Master’s Degree Programs (MDPs): Include MA (Education), MA(Psychology), M.Com., and MBA.
  • PG Diploma Programs: Like PGDHRM, PGDIBO, PGDRD, PGDFM, etc.
  • Diploma & Certificate Programs: DECE, DNHE, CFN, or similar programs involving practical or fieldwork.
  • Special Courses: Includes Internship Reports (including Dissertations), Field Work Journals (including Field Work Journals), and Practicum Files.

Each program has a specific project guide that defines the structure, topic of research, and submission procedure. Before writing the report, students should check their project guidelines or regional center directions.

IGNOU Project Submission: Dates, Methods, and Final Date

As per the official update, the last date for online submission of the final project/dissertation/internship reports for the December 2025 TEE is 30th November 2025.

Important points about the submission:

  • The session of December 2025 will only be offered online.
  • Please note that students of the DECE04 course in the DECE program will have a separate link to submit their work.
  • Students should not upload TEE documents, synopses, or other unrelated documents to this portal.
  • The evaluation of incomplete or unapproved reports and submissions will be denied.

The university has introduced an online submission system to enable students to send their files securely and efficiently, without needing to physically visit. To avoid delays or rejections, students should upload their files before the deadline.

After uploading, you can check the status of your project via the official portal. The status usually appears within a few days after the project has been verified by the evaluation department.

IGNOU Project Submissions: Eligibility

Not every student can submit a project. IGNOU has clear eligibility requirements that must be met before submitting a project.

  • You must complete and pass the coursework and other assignments that are required for your particular course.
  • Your project proposal or summary must be approved by the project leader or the school that you have been assigned.
  • Your Term End Examination form must include the Project Evaluation fee.
  • The project should follow the guidelines and format approved by the government.
  • Students who will be taking the final year/semester exams in December 2025 can submit their project IGNOU online.

The next session will be the only opportunity for those who do not meet these conditions to submit.

Format and submission rules

IGNOU’s strict evaluation standards require that you follow the correct format for your project. Rejection can occur if there is any deviation from the format of a document. The following formatting and submission rules will help you to prepare the perfect project report.

File Formats and Structure

  • The project/dissertation/internship report must be scanned as a single PDF file per subject/course.

  • On the first page, the PDF file should clearly include:

    • Title of Project/Dissertation/Internship/Practicum

    • Name of the Learner

    • Programme Code

    • Enrolment Number (as per ID card)

    • Regional Center Code

    • Course code(s), if any, of the attached project

    • Mobile Number & E-mail ID

Additional Requirements

  • If applicable, the Project Proposal Proforma must include the Synopsis of the Project Guide’s Bio-data, Originality Certificate, and Project Proposal Proforma.

  • Scan pages that are clearly lit and oriented properly. Avoid pages that are a mix of portrait and panorama.

  • Approval from your project leader or supervisor is required before you upload.

  • The PDF file name should include your enrollment number and course code (example: 2104589654_MAEDU_Project.pdf).

How to submit the IGNOU Project Online

Here is a step-by-step guide to ensure a smooth and successful submission.

  1. Prepare your final proposal according to the approved project.

  2. Scan and save your report in a single file.

  3. Please click on the “Online Submission” link to submit your program (available at the IGNOU submission portal).

  4. Fill out all the details, including your program code and enrolment numbers. Also, include your email ID.

  5. Please upload the PDF document and the receipt for payment of your project evaluation fee along with your TEE.

  6. When the file has been uploaded, you will receive a confirmation message via email.

  7. After a couple of days, you can verify the status by visiting the IGNOU status project link.

The online form is simple to use, and it ensures that your documents reach the regional center in a safe manner. Emails will not accept reports.

Project Evaluation and Viva Voce

IGNOU’s Student Evaluation Division (SED), after receiving the project, reviews it to ensure its accuracy and completeness. After approval, the next stage is the viva voce (oral exam).

  • The vivas are conducted by the faculty members or evaluators of your Regional Center.

  • Students will be contacted by email or telephone to schedule a viva.

  • The viva allows the student to demonstrate that they have personally worked on their project and are familiar with the subject.

Students should be prepared to explain clearly their objectives, methods, and findings. It is crucial to prepare for the viva as this will add value in the final evaluation.

What Happens if You Miss the IGNOU Project Deadline?

The results of your submission can be delayed if you miss the deadline. IGNOU will not consider your project report for the December TEE if it isn’t uploaded by 30th Nov 2025.

Important Consequences

  • After the deadline, you will no longer be able to access your submission.

  • You’ll need to reupload your project during the next TEE.

  • Your degree completion may be delayed to the next evaluation cycle.

  • The University will not accept any correspondence regarding late or incomplete applications.

To avoid technical problems or upload failures at the last minute, students are advised to submit their reports 5 – 7 days prior to the deadline.

Common issues students face during project submission

Even when students prepare well, they often still face challenges. Here’s what you can do to avoid them.

  • Compressing your PDF file before uploading will reduce the size of the file without compromising clarity.

  • Blurred scanning: Re-scan in bright light and with the correct orientation.

  • When naming your files, always include the course code and enrollment number.

  • Uploading the incorrect document: Never upload the TEE synopsis or assignments to the project portal.

  • Technical error: Avoid uploading at the end of the day when servers will be busy.

If you follow these guidelines, your IGNOU submission will go smoothly.
