निम्नलिखित प्रश्नों के उत्तर दीजिए :
1. निम्नलिखित में से किन्हीं तीन गद्यांशों की संदर्भ व्याख्या कीजिए।

(क)
चार दिन तक पलक नहीं झपकी। बिना फेरे घोड़ा बिगड़ता है और बिना लड़े सिपाही। मुझे तो सगियाँ देखकर गर्व का उदय मिलता जाता। एक सगियों को अकेला मारकर न लौटूँ, तो मुझे दरबार साहब की देहरी पर माथा टेकना सरीखा न हो।
(ख)
महाराज देहात की बगलाती ऐसे सत्यवादी पुरुषों से नहीं की जाती। उनसे संबंध हो जाना ही लाख रुपये के बराबर है। मैं स्त्री को अपना अहोभाग्य समझता हूँ। हाँ! कितनी उदार आत्मा थी। रुपये को उन्होंने छूना मना समझा। लाखों के बराबर की नहीं थी। धन्य! त्याग! त्याग है; बेहद बुरा! सर बस चला तो देखो लेने वाले और देने वाले की गोली मार दूँ। फिर चाहे फाँसी ही क्यों न हो जाए! पूछो आप लड़के का विवाह करते हैं कि उसे बेचते हैं? अगर आपको लड़के की शादी में दिल खोलकर खर्च करने का अरमान है तो शौक से खर्च कीजिए; लेकिन जो कुछ कीजिए अपने बल पर। यह क्या कि कन्या के पिता का गला रेतिए! नीचता है, घोर नीचता! मेरा बस चले, तो इन पापियों को गोली मार दूँ।

जी हाँ, मैं कॉलेज में पढ़ी हूँ। मैंने बी.ए. पास किया है। कोई पाप नहीं किया, चोरी नहीं की और न आपका कुछ बिगाड़ा है। तरक्की करके कमाकर खाती हूँ। मुझे अपनी इज्जत अपनी मान का ख्याल तो है, लेकिन इससे अधिक कि कि किस तरह नौकरी के पैरों पर पकड़कर अपना मुँह छिपा कर भागूँ थी।
(घ)
राजनीति? राजनीति ही मनुष्यों के लिए सब कुछ नहीं। राजनीति के पीछे नीति से भी हाथ न हो तो, निश्चित मानव के साथ विश्वासघात है। राजनीति की सामान्य दृष्टि से सफलता प्राप्त करके धन और पद के लिए तुम अपने को चतुर समझने लगे तो भूल कर सकते हो। परंतु इस क्षण संसार में प्रेम करने वाले हृदय को खो देना, सबसे बड़ी हानि है। शकराजी! दो चार अपने हृदय के जीव में प्रेम-वर्गीय ज्योति का निखार है।

यदि हम अपने आप को संकुचित दृष्टि कर अवकाश में अपने मन के अनुकूलवाद कर सकें तो अति भाग्य! एक वाक्यांश मात्र के दम पर जानिए कि कितने प्रकार का दबाव हो गया। हमारी जिह्वा जो कतरनी के समान सदा सचेत चलती रहती है। उसे यदि हमने दबाकर रखा तो वह क्षणिक बंधन से अपने आप को मुक्त कर लेगी।

2. निम्नलिखित प्रश्नों में से किन्हीं चार प्रश्नों के उत्तर दीजिए।

(क) हिंदी उपन्यास की विकास यात्रा पर विस्तार से चर्चा कीजिए।
