MPC 02 Solved Guess Paper 2026 is a 14-page PDF built for students sitting the MPC-002 term-end examination in June 2026 or December 2026. It holds 13 questions with complete written answers, every one of them mapped to a block of the syllabus and to the sessions in which that topic has already been examined. Nothing in it is guesswork dressed up as prediction.
The paper was put together for learners on IGNOU's M.A. in Psychology (MAPC) who are short on time and long on syllabus. MPC-002 carries four blocks and sixteen units, and the term-end paper asks for only eight answers out of twelve printed questions. Most of the textbook, in practical terms, never reaches the answer sheet. This paper works out which parts do.

What You Get in the MPC 02 Solved Guess Paper
You get 13 questions with full written answers across 13 pages, covering all four blocks of MPC-002. The file opens with a question index, carries a block tag and a priority label on every question, and closes with a frequency table and three preparation rules. It is a study document, not a list of topics.
The last two pages are the part students tell us they did not expect. One page sets out what not to over-prepare, including the information-processing model and week-by-week embryo measurements, and the other lists what examiners actually reward. Cutting topics is uncomfortable, but with two hours and eight answers to write, it is the whole game.
5 Sample Questions With Answers From the MPC 02 Guess Paper
Five of the 13 questions are reproduced below in full, so you can judge the answer quality before you ask for the paper. They are deliberately spread across all three exam sections and all three mark values, and they come from Blocks 1, 2, 3 and 4. The remaining 8 questions are in the complete file.
Growth, development and the characteristics of lifespan development
Question: Differentiate between growth and development. Delineate the characteristics of lifespan development.
Meaning of growth and development. Lifespan developmental psychology examines both constancy and change in human behaviour across the entire life span, from conception to death. Growth is an increase in size. Development is a progression towards maturity that includes biological, cognitive and social change over time.
| Basis | Growth | Development |
|---|---|---|
| Nature | Increase in size | Progression towards maturity |
| Type of change | Quantitative | Qualitative and quantitative |
| Scope | Physical and measurable | Physical, cognitive and social |
| Duration | Birth to adolescence | Conception to death |
Four areas of children's growth and development. Physical growth in height, weight and abilities such as crawling and writing. Psychological and cognitive growth, as the child learns to think and solve problems. Social and emotional growth, covering interaction, self-esteem and morality. Sexuality and gender identity, as the child forms a masculine or feminine identity.
Characteristics of lifespan development. Lifelong, with gains and losses at every stage. Multidimensional, running through biological, cognitive and socio-emotional domains together. Multidirectional, since some abilities grow while others decline. Plastic, because life circumstances can modify development. Contextual, varying with social, historical and cultural setting. Multidisciplinary, studied through psychology, sociology, anthropology and medicine.
Conclusion. Growth is an increase in size while development is qualitative progression towards maturity. As Baltes stated, lifespan development is lifelong, multidimensional, multidirectional, plastic and contextual.
Piaget's theory of cognitive development
Question: Explain Piaget's theory of cognitive development during childhood and adolescence.
Meaning of cognitive development. Piaget's theory of cognitive development is a comprehensive account of the nature and development of human intelligence, dealing with how people gradually acquire, construct and use knowledge. Piaget treated a child's knowledge as a set of schemas, the basic units used to organise past experience and make sense of new experience.
The four stages. The sensorimotor stage in infancy, where intelligence shows through motor activity without symbols and object permanence appears at around seven months across six sub-stages. The pre-operational stage in toddlerhood and early childhood, where symbols and language appear but thought stays non-logical, non-reversible and egocentric.
The concrete operational stage in the elementary years and early adolescence brings logical, reversible thought and seven types of conservation, covering number, length, liquid, mass, weight, area and volume, while egocentric thought fades. The formal operational stage in adolescence and adulthood brings logical use of symbols tied to abstract concepts, and the ability to reason about what is possible rather than only what is real.
Cognitive advances in adolescence. Abstract thinking about possibilities beyond the here and now. Reasoning from known principles to form new ideas. Holding several points of view at once and comparing them. Thinking about the process of thinking itself, which brings adolescent egocentrism and the imaginary audience.
Conclusion. Piaget explained cognitive growth through four sequential stages from sensorimotor to formal operations. Childhood brings logical concrete thought, while adolescence brings the abstract, hypothetical reasoning that marks mature thinking.
Identification and remedial programme for learning disability
Question: Discuss the identification process and remedial programme for learning disability.
Meaning of learning disability. A syndrome found in children of normal or above-normal intelligence, marked by specific difficulty in learning to read, called dyslexia, to write, called dysgraphia, and to do grade-appropriate mathematics, called dyscalculia.
Identification process. Early screening by the class teacher, who recognises the symptoms of specific learning problems. Assessment by a multidisciplinary team of teacher, school psychologist and clinical personnel to establish the degree of disability. Standardised testing using WISC-III for cognitive ability, Woodcock-Johnson (WJ-III) for achievement, and the Brigance Diagnostic Inventory of Basic Skills.
Remedial programme. Direct instruction, a structured step-by-step strategy with clear goals, feedback and correction. Multisensory strategies that use seeing, hearing, touch and movement. Study-skill and meta-cognitive training in note-taking, test-taking and composition. Social-skill training and inclusion alongside non-disabled classmates. Peer-mediated and computer-assisted instruction inside the general classroom.
Conclusion. Early identification through teacher observation and standardised testing, followed by individualised methods such as direct and multisensory instruction, helps the learning-disabled child reach their potential.
Ageing issues and challenges in late adulthood
Question: Discuss the ageing issues and challenges during late adulthood.
Meaning of ageing in late adulthood. As we age, the body changes in ways that affect both individual cells and whole organ systems. Ageing may be inevitable, but the rate of ageing is not. Muscles, blood vessels and tissues lose elasticity, the heart becomes less efficient, bones weaken and metabolism slows.
Physical issues and challenges. Skin changes such as wrinkles, dryness and age spots as collagen breaks down and sun exposure accumulates. Obesity and metabolic syndrome, where weight around the waist raises diabetes and heart risk. Arthritis, osteoporosis and falls, a leading cause of disability among the elderly. Rising cancer risk, alongside macular degeneration, cataract and hearing loss.
Psychological challenges. Alzheimer's disease and memory decline threaten mental health. Depression is frequently underdiagnosed in this age group, and both depression and suicide rates rise after retirement.
Conclusion. Late adulthood brings physical challenges across skin, bone, sensory and cardiovascular systems, and psychological challenges such as depression and memory loss. Staying mentally and physically active helps meet these challenges.
Types of attachment patterns
Question: Write a short note on the types of attachment patterns.
Early attachment patterns predict the quality of later intimate relationships, because the early bond sets up an internal working model, a set of expectations about love figures.
Secure attachment. The person is comfortable with intimacy and trust, has few fears of abandonment, and describes relationships as happy and trusting. Avoidant attachment. Arising from critical parenting, the person is independent and mistrustful, anxious about closeness, and shows jealousy and emotional distance. Resistant attachment. Arising from unpredictable parenting, the person fears abandonment, forms intense relationships and swings between extreme highs and lows.
Conclusion. Secure, avoidant and resistant patterns formed early shape adult intimacy, though a healthy relationship can help a person overcome a troubled background.
Those are 5 of the 13 questions. The other 8 answers, including prenatal development, Piaget against Kohlberg, cognitive change in middle adulthood, psychosocial change in old age, Marcia's identity statuses, language development in infancy, motor development in the early school years and stage theories against the contextual approach, are in the complete file.

| Q13 | Erikson's adult crises against Bronfenbrenner's five nested environments and Vygotsky | Block 4, Section C | 3 marks, 120 words | MEDIUM | In full file |
Seven of the thirteen carry the HIGH label and six carry MEDIUM. Nothing is labelled LOW, because a single-appearance topic such as value education or concept formation does not earn a place in a paper this short. Those sit in the "do not over-prepare" page instead.
How the MPC 02 Important Questions Were Selected
Six MPC-002 term-end papers from June 2023 to December 2025 were read question by question, and 22 recurring topics were tracked across those sessions. Every topic that survived into the final 13 either repeated across sessions or had been absent long enough to be due for a return.
Repetition on its own is not enough. IGNOU rarely repeats a topic in consecutive sessions, so a question asked in December 2025 is often the least likely to reappear in June 2026. That is why the priority labels are not a simple tally. HIGH means either four or more appearances in six sessions, or a topic that has skipped enough recent papers to be overdue.
Psychosocial change in old age is the clearest example. It appeared in June 2023 and December 2023, then vanished for four straight sessions. On a pure count it looks minor. On a gap reading it is one of the strongest candidates for 2026, which is why it carries a HIGH label in the paper.
If you would rather do this reading yourself, the raw material is public. Every IGNOU IGNOU Previous Year Question Paper for MAPC sits on the university's question paper portal, and we cross-checked our June 2024 row against the official paper published there before finalising the frequency table.

Six-Session Frequency Analysis Behind the MPC 02 Guess Paper
The table below shows which of the 13 selected topics appeared in each of the six sessions from June 2023 to December 2025. A tick means the topic was examined in that session in some form, whether as a full ten-mark question, a six-mark question or a short note.
| Topic | Jun 2023 | Dec 2023 | Jun 2024 | Dec 2024 | Jun 2025 | Dec 2025 | Times |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth against development and lifespan characteristics | Yes | No | Yes | No | Yes | No | 3 |
| Prenatal development characteristics and periods | Yes | No | Yes | No | No | Yes | 3 |
| Piaget's cognitive development | Yes | Yes | No | No | Yes | Yes | 4 |
| Piaget and Kohlberg on moral development | No | Yes | No | Yes | No | Yes | 3 |
| Cognitive changes in middle adulthood | No | No | Yes | No | No | Yes | 2 |

| Attachment patterns | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | 3 |
| Stage theories against the contextual approach | Yes | No | Yes | No | No | No | 2 |
Learning and intellectual disability is the standout, examined in five of the six sessions. If you revise one six-mark topic before you walk in, revise that one. Piaget's cognitive development follows at four appearances, and it is worth noting that Piaget shows up in both December sessions of the last two years.
MPC 02 Life Span Psychology Syllabus Blocks and Units
MPC-002 is built from four blocks and sixteen units, and the guess paper draws from every one of the four. The table sets out what each block contains, what the term-end paper actually tends to ask from it, and how many of the 13 questions come from it.
| Block | Units inside the block | What the paper asks from this block | Questions from this block |
|---|---|---|---|
| Block 1 Prenatal, Infancy and Early Childhood | Concept of development and methods of studying it; prenatal development, genetics and hazards; development during infancy; early childhood | Growth against development, the six Baltes characteristics, the zygote-embryo-fetus sequence, teratogens and Rh incompatibility, and the move from cooing to two-word speech | 3 (Q1, Q2, Q9) |
| Block 2 Development During Early School Years, 6 to 11 Years | Physical development; cognitive, social, emotional and moral development; schooling and development; identification of problems in school children and remedial measures | Piaget's moral realism against Kohlberg's six stages, gross and fine muscular coordination, handedness, and the screening and remediation route for learning disability | 3 (Q4, Q8, Q10) |
| Block 3 Development During Adolescence | Physical changes; cognitive changes; identity, self-concept, self-esteem and peer group relationships; challenges and issues in adolescent development | Formal operational thought and hypothetical reasoning, adolescent egocentrism and the imaginary audience, Erikson's identity against role confusion, and Marcia's four statuses | 2 (Q3, Q7) |
| Block 4 Adulthood and Ageing | Physical changes across early adulthood, middle age and old age; cognitive changes; psycho-social changes; challenges and issues in the ageing process | Fluid against crystallized intelligence, Sternberg's three parts, Erikson's ego integrity against despair, Peck's three tasks, retirement adjustment and the social convoy | 5 (Q5, Q6, Q11, Q12, Q13) |
Block 4 supplies five of the thirteen questions, which surprises students who assume the child development blocks dominate. Adulthood and ageing is the block most learners skim, and it is the block the examiner returns to most often across both sections A and C. If you are still collecting your reading, the block-wise MPC 02 Study Material is the place to start before you touch any guess paper.
MPC 02 Exam Pattern and Word Limits for 2026
The MPC-002 term-end paper carries 50 marks over 2 hours, with three compulsory sections and eight answers to write in total. That is roughly fifteen minutes per ten-mark answer once you account for reading and choosing, which is why the word targets in the paper matter as much as the content.
| Section | Printed questions | To attempt | Marks | Word target |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Section A | 4 long-answer questions | Any 2 | 2 × 10 = 20 | About 450 words each |
| Section B | 5 medium-answer questions | Any 4 | 4 × 6 = 24 | About 250 words each |
| Section C | 3 short notes | Any 2 | 2 × 3 = 6 | About 100 to 120 words each |
One detail confuses students every session. The course is listed as Life Span Psychology in the MAPC programme structure and on eGyanKosh, but the term-end question paper itself is headed Lifespan Development. Both refer to MPC-002. If your hall ticket says one and your book says the other, nothing has gone wrong.
Two smaller points worth knowing. Extra answers are not evaluated, so writing a fifth Section B answer costs you time and earns you nothing. And IGNOU labels its sessions only as June and December, so any material offering you a MPC-002 paper for some other month is describing something that does not exist.
How the MPC 02 Answers Are Written
Every answer follows the same four-part shape: a definition, the body split into labelled sub-headings, a table or numbered list where the content allows, and a short evaluative conclusion. Examiners mark quickly, and a visible structure earns marks that a dense paragraph does not.
The opening line of each answer carries a definition and a scholar's name, because that is the first thing an evaluator looks for. Baltes for lifespan characteristics, Piaget and Kohlberg for morality, Erikson and Marcia for identity, Peck and Labouvie-Vief for old age. Where the IGNOU book supplies a date, the answer supplies it too.
Counts are kept exact. Four components of language development, four identity statuses, six basic motor behaviours, seven types of conservation, three periods of prenatal growth. Vague phrasing such as "several stages" reads as unprepared. A precise count reads as someone who has actually read the unit.
The language is deliberately plain. Psychology answers fail more often from tangled sentences than from missing content, so the answers avoid clause-heavy academic prose and stick to sentences a tired student can absorb at eleven at night and reproduce at ten the next morning.
Who Should Use This MPC 02 Guess Paper
This paper suits first-year MAPC students with four to six weeks of preparation time who need coverage before depth. It is a revision and prioritisation tool. It sits on top of the IGNOU book, not in place of it.
It works well for working students juggling a job with re-registration deadlines, for repeaters clearing a backlog paper alongside second-year courses, and for anyone who has opened all four blocks, felt the volume, and needed someone to say which sixteen units matter most. It is also useful the week before the exam, when the question is no longer what to learn but what to revise.
It is a poor fit if you are starting MPC-002 from scratch with the exam a week away, or if you want a guarantee. No guess paper can promise the exact printed questions. What this one does is narrow twenty-two examinable topics down to thirteen with a documented reason attached to each. Students taking more than one first-year course usually pair it with the wider MAPC Guess Paper set so their revision plan covers the whole semester rather than a single code.
How to Get the Complete MPC 02 Solved Guess Paper
Send a WhatsApp message to 9899436384 with your course code, and the complete MPC-002 file is shared as a paid study material after your enquiry. Mention MPC 02 and your target session, June 2026 or December 2026, so the right version reaches you.
You are welcome to ask questions before deciding. Students commonly ask how long the answers run, whether the file covers Block 4 properly, and whether it will help if they have not opened the book yet. All three get an honest answer, including when the honest answer is that a guess paper is not what you need right now.
If you are studying more than one first-year code, say so in the same message. The wider IGNOU Solved Guess Paper collection covers other MAPC codes, and it is easier to sort out one bundle than to send separate enquiries across a fortnight.
MPC 02 Guess Paper Questions Students Ask
The eight questions below are the ones students actually send to 9899436384 before asking for the MPC 02 file. They are answered here in the same plain terms they would get on WhatsApp, including the places where the honest answer is a qualified one.
Is the MPC 02 guess paper valid for both June 2026 and December 2026?
Yes. The MPC 02 guess paper is prepared for both the June 2026 and December 2026 term-end examinations of MPC-002. IGNOU labels its sessions only as June and December, and the syllabus does not change between them, so the same 13 questions and answers apply to either sitting. Mention your target session when you enquire so the current version is shared.
How many questions does the MPC 02 solved guess paper contain?
The paper contains 13 questions with complete answers across 13 pages. Seven are ten-mark Section A questions of about 450 words, four are six-mark Section B questions of about 250 words, and two are Section C short notes of roughly 120 words. Five of the 13 are reproduced on this page, and the remaining 8 come with the complete file.
Are the MPC 02 answers written from the IGNOU textbook?
Yes. Definitions, scholar names, stage lists and exact counts are taken from the IGNOU MPC-002 book rather than from general psychology sources. That matters because evaluators mark against the university's own material. Where the book gives a date or a specific figure, such as the seven types of conservation or the six basic motor behaviours, the answer carries it too.
Can I pass MPC 02 Life Span Psychology by studying only this guess paper?
It gives you a strong chance, but it is not a guarantee and we will not pretend otherwise. The paper narrows 22 examinable topics down to 13 with a documented reason for each. If the exam picks a topic outside those 13, you need book knowledge to fall back on. Treat it as a prioritised revision plan sitting on top of the study material.
Why is MPC 02 called Life Span Psychology in some places and Lifespan Development in others?
Both names refer to the same course. The MAPC programme structure and eGyanKosh list MPC-002 as Life Span Psychology, while the printed term-end question paper is headed Lifespan Development. This confuses students every session, but there is no second course and no syllabus difference. Your hall ticket, book and question paper all point to the same code.
What is the exam pattern for MPC 02 in the term-end examination?
MPC-002 runs for 2 hours and carries 50 marks across three compulsory sections. Section A prints four questions and you answer any two for ten marks each. Section B prints five and you answer any four for six marks each. Section C prints three short notes and you answer any two for three marks each. Extra answers are not evaluated.
How do I receive the complete MPC 02 guess paper with answers?
Send a WhatsApp message to 9899436384 stating MPC 02 and your target session. The complete file is a paid study material shared after your enquiry, delivered as a PDF you can read on a phone or print. Ask any questions you have before deciding, including how the answers are structured or how much of Block 4 the paper covers.
Does the MPC 02 paper include written answers or only important questions?
It includes written answers. Every one of the 13 questions carries a complete answer with a definition, labelled sub-headings, a comparison table or numbered list where the content allows, and a short conclusion. It is not a bare topic list. The five samples on this page are reproduced exactly as they appear inside the file, so you can judge the depth yourself.
