What Our BPCC 134 Solved Question Paper for June 2026 Contains

BPCC 134 Solved Question Paper June 2026 is our complete answer file for IGNOU paper C–3392, with all 8 questions solved and 2 of them open on this page. It covers the Statistical Methods and Psychological Research term-end paper sat by BAG and BAM learners this June.

BPCC 134 Statistical Methods and Psychological Research is the 6-credit psychology core course of IGNOU's Bachelor of Arts (General) that teaches research methods in Blocks 1 and 2 and descriptive statistics, correlation and the normal curve in Blocks 3 and 4.

The June 2026 paper is an even split. Section A asks about the research process, probability and non-probability sampling, qualitative research, the laboratory versus field distinction, and a mean and standard deviation sum. Section B asks for a Spearman's rho calculation, the role of statistics, percentile, central tendency and divergence from normality.

That mix matters for planning. Two of the 8 questions are pure computation (Q4 and Q5), and both appear in Section A and Section B respectively, so a student who can do the sums can secure one numerical in each section and only needs three theory answers to complete the paper.

Each answer in the file is pitched at the length printed on the paper: about 300 words for a full question and about 150 words for each short note in Q3 and Q7. The two numericals show every working step, because IGNOU evaluators give step marks even when a final figure slips.

Two Fully Solved BPCC 134 Answers from the June 2026 Paper

Q1 (research process, Section A) and Q5 (Spearman's rho, Section B) are answered in full below, exactly as they appear in our file. One is a theory answer and one is a numerical, so you can judge both styles before you message us.

Sample 1 of 2 Question 1 10 marks

Q1. Describe various steps involved in a research process. (10 marks)

Section A · Block 1, Unit 1 · Also asked in June 2023

Introduction. Psychological research is a systematic and scientific way of finding answers to questions about behaviour and mental processes. It does not happen in one jump. A researcher moves through a planned sequence of steps, and each step depends on the one before it. The main steps are explained below.

1. Identifying the research problem. Research starts with a question that needs an answer, for example whether exam anxiety affects memory recall. The problem must be clear, specific, researchable and worth studying.

2. Reviewing the literature. The researcher studies earlier books, journals and studies on the topic. This shows what is already known, where the gap lies and which methods others have used.

3. Formulating the hypothesis. A hypothesis is a tentative, testable statement about the relationship between variables, such as "higher exam anxiety leads to lower recall". Variables are defined in operational terms so they can be measured.

4. Planning the research design. The researcher decides how the study will be carried out: experimental or non-experimental, quantitative or qualitative, and how extraneous variables will be controlled.

5. Selecting the sample. Since the whole population cannot be studied, a representative sample is chosen through probability or non-probability sampling.

6. Collecting the data. Suitable tools such as tests, questionnaires, interviews or observation are used, and the data are gathered following ethical guidelines like informed consent and confidentiality.

7. Analysing the data. Data are organised and analysed with statistical techniques such as mean, standard deviation and correlation, or with thematic analysis in qualitative work.

8. Interpreting results and drawing conclusions. The researcher checks whether the hypothesis is accepted or rejected and explains the findings in the light of earlier research.

9. Writing the research report. Finally, the study is reported with its problem, method, results, discussion, limitations and references, so that others can evaluate or replicate it.

Conclusion. The research process is systematic and cyclical. The conclusions of one study often raise new questions, which start the process again. Following these steps carefully makes research objective, reliable and useful.

Sample 2 of 2 Question 5 10 marks

Q5. Compute Spearman's rho for the following data. (10 marks)

Section B · Block 4, Unit 13 · Correlation computation has appeared in every official paper we checked

Given data. Data A: 3, 2, 4, 6, 7, 1, 8. Data B: 8, 3, 5, 7, 9, 4, 10. Number of pairs, N = 7.

Formula. Spearman's rank order correlation is ρ = 1 − (6ΣD²) / [N(N² − 1)], where D is the difference between the two ranks of each pair.

Step 1: Rank both sets. The lowest score in each set gets rank 1. There are no tied scores, so no average ranks are needed. Ranking from the highest instead gives the same ρ.

Working table for the June 2026 BPCC 134 Q5 Spearman's rho calculation, with ranks, rank differences and squared differences
Data A Data B Rank A (R1) Rank B (R2) D = R1 − R2 D²
3835−24
232111
454311
675411
796600
1412−11
8107700
TotalsΣD = 0ΣD² = 8

Step 2: Check. ΣD = 0, which confirms the ranks are assigned correctly.

Step 3: Substitute. ρ = 1 − (6 × 8) / [7 × (49 − 1)] = 1 − 48 / 336 = 1 − 0.143 = 0.857 (about 0.86).

Interpretation. ρ = 0.86 is a high positive correlation. Students who rank high in Data A also tend to rank high in Data B, and only small rank shifts (at most two places) separate the two orders. Spearman's rho measures association between ranks; it does not show that one variable causes the other.

How Our BPCC 134 Answers Are Written and Checked

Every answer in our IGNOU BPCC 134 Solved Question Paper is written from the IGNOU block material, then checked line by line by our academic head before the file is released. Numericals are recalculated a second time on a separate sheet.

Theory answers follow the shape IGNOU evaluators reward: a short introduction, numbered points with headings, a worked psychology example, and a one-line conclusion. Terms such as operational definition, sampling frame or leptokurtic are used exactly as the block defines them.

For the June 2026 sums, each answer shows the formula first, then a working table, then the substitution and a plain-language interpretation. In Q4 the mean and the standard deviation are each worked in full, so the 5+5 split is visible to the examiner.

Because we write the full set for every course in a programme, the same checking applies to our BAG Question Paper files for the other Bachelor of Arts (General) courses.

Programmes That Study BPCC 134 Statistical Methods and Psychological Research

BPCC 134 is a core psychology course of IGNOU's Bachelor of Arts (General), BAG, and the June 2026 paper header also lists B.A. (Multidisciplinary), BAM. Both groups sat the same paper C–3392.

BAG learners usually meet BPCC 134 after BPCC 131 Foundations of Psychology and BPCC 132 Introduction to Social Psychology, so the research ideas here build on those. Programme rules and course lists are on our IGNOU Bachelor of Arts (General) page.

Honours psychology students (BAPCH) study statistics through separate codes such as BPCC 104, so check your own code before ordering. The BPCC 134 file matches only the BAG and BAM paper.

BPCC 134 Questions Students Ask Us

How do I get the full BPCC 134 solved paper for June 2026?

Send a WhatsApp message to 9899436384 with the words BPCC 134 June 2026. We reply with the price and payment details, and once payment is confirmed the complete PDF reaches you in the same chat. It contains answers to all 8 questions of paper C–3392, which means the 2 answers shown on this page plus the 6 that are listed here as question text only.

Which questions from the BPCC 134 June 2026 paper are answered on this page?

Two answers are open on this page. Q1 explains the nine steps of the research process from Section A, and Q5 works out Spearman's rho for seven pairs of scores from Section B, giving a result of about 0.86. They show both of our answer styles, theory and numerical, so you can judge the quality before ordering the remaining six answers.

What is the exam pattern of BPCC 134 Statistical Methods and Psychological Research?

The paper runs for 2 hours and carries 50 marks. It prints 8 questions of 10 marks each across Section A and Section B, and you attempt any 5, with at least 2 from each section. Answers should be about 300 words, or 150 words for each short note. A simple calculator is allowed for the numerical questions on central tendency, variability and correlation.

Which BPCC 134 topics repeat most in IGNOU papers?

Across six official papers from June 2023 to June 2026, a correlation sum and a mean computation appeared every single time. Standard deviation appeared five times. Sampling, quantitative research, observation and scales of measurement appeared three times each. Theory slots rotate, so a student who masters the two sums and about a dozen theory topics covers most of what IGNOU usually asks.

Does the BPCC 134 June 2026 file include the practical work?

No. The file covers the written theory paper only. BPCC 134 has a separate 2-credit practical block that is assessed through its own practical examination and record, not through paper C–3392. If you also need help with the practical side, mention it in the same WhatsApp chat on 9899436384 and our team will tell you what is available for that component.

Are the BPCC 134 numerical answers shown step by step?

Yes. Each numerical starts with the formula, then a full working table, then the substitution and a short interpretation of the result. In the June 2026 file this applies to Q4, mean and standard deviation of ten scores, and Q5, Spearman's rho. Step-by-step working matters because IGNOU evaluators award marks for correct method even when a small arithmetic slip occurs.

Is the BPCC 134 file useful for the December 2026 exam?

Yes, as practice. The December 2026 paper will have new questions, but the topic table on this page shows how often BPCC 134 repeats its themes. Working through the June 2026 answers, especially the two sums and the normal curve diagrams, prepares you for the same question types. Treat it as solved practice, not as a prediction of the next paper.

Who writes and reviews the BPCC 134 answers?

The answers are written by our subject team under Prateek Talwar, founder of Unnati Educations, using the IGNOU block material for BPCC 134. Every answer is then reviewed by Sheetal Kirola, our academic head, who checks definitions against the blocks and recalculates every numerical. Only after that review is the June 2026 file released to students on WhatsApp.

Unnati Educations is an independent study-material provider and is not affiliated with IGNOU. Question text is reproduced from the official June 2026 BPCC-134 paper for reference.
