What is NIOS Stream 2 Admission?
NIOS Stream 1 Admission is only for students who did not pass class 10 or 12 in CBSE, ICSE, or any state boards.
This gives you the opportunity to pass your exams within the same year.
This means that if you failed the board exams you took earlier, you could reappear in those exams via NIOS again in October 2025.

Who Can Apply for NIOS Stream 2 Admission?
NIOS Stream 2 includes all students who failed their 10th or 12th-grade board exams in the current year or the previous year.
For class 10th fail students:
- You failed the 10th-grade board exam.
- You must be over 14 (by 31 Jan 2020).
- It is important to have your admit card or failed marks sheet.
For class 12th fail students:
- You failed your 12th board examinations from any recognized body.
- You’ve already passed the 10th class.
- You must present your 12th-grade failed sheet or admit card.
You don’t need to worry if your eligibility is unclear.

Let’s simplify it.
To transfer credit (TOC), you can keep the subjects that you passed in your previous board exam.
You do not need to appear for these subjects again.
You may transfer marks from up to 2 subjects.
Example:
If you have failed three subjects and passed 2 (such as English and Hindi), NIOS can transfer your marks for those 2 subjects.
Exams are only required for 3 of the subjects that you failed.
It will help you to pass more quickly and with less strain.
