The 2nd Year set moves into curriculum, assessment, inclusion and school practice. Four of these, Language Across the Curriculum, Understanding Disciplines and Subjects, Gender, School and Society, and Health, Physical and Yoga Education, are shorter 40-mark papers, so they need tighter answers. What Stood Out in the MDU B.Ed June 2024 Papers
Assessment was the common thread across the June 2024 set. Learning and Teaching asked about formative, summative and diagnostic evaluation, Pedagogy of English asked about CCE, Pedagogy of Social Science covered achievement tests, question banks and open-book exams, and Assessment for Learning tested NCF 2005 reforms. NCF 2005 itself appeared twice, in Contemporary India and Education and in Assessment for Learning. If you revise evaluation well, it pays off in several papers at once.
Several questions tested application, not just recall. Pedagogy of Social Science asked for a complete Class 7 lesson plan, a pedagogical analysis of Disaster Management and a micro lesson on explanation skill. Assessment for Learning included a product-moment correlation numerical, so practise the calculation, not only the theory.
Knowledge and Curriculum placed Indian and western thought side by side, with Sankhya philosophy and pragmatism in the same unit. Creating an Inclusive School focused on specific disabilities, UNCRPD 2006 and class management, while Childhood and Growing Up leaned heavily on adolescence.
Some questions carried straight into the next year. Learning and Teaching asked how teaching differs from training and indoctrination in June 2024, and the May 2025 paper asked a near-identical question. ICT also appeared in Question 1 of both years, as ICT use in 2024 and e-learning in 2025.
How the MDU B.Ed June 2024 Session Fits the Exam Timeline
MDU has held its B.Ed term-end exams in different months in recent years: July 2021, July 2022, August 2023, June 2024 and May 2025. The June 2024 papers therefore reflect the 2023-24 teaching year and are the last full set before the May 2025 cycle.
That makes June 2024 your best bridge between older and newest papers. Once you finish it, move to the MDU B.Ed May 2025 question papers to see how MDU reframed the same topics a year later.
MDU B.Ed June 2024 Paper Pattern and Marks
MDU runs B.Ed on an annual scheme with 20% internal assessment. A 100-mark subject has an 80-mark written paper of three hours plus 20 internal marks. A 50-mark subject has a 40-mark written paper of ninety minutes plus 10 internal marks.
In the 80-mark papers, you attempt five questions: a compulsory Question 1 of four short notes (4 x 4 = 16 marks) and one 16-mark question from each of four units. In the 40-mark papers, you attempt three questions: a compulsory Question 1 of two short notes (4 x 2 = 8 marks) and one 16-mark question from each of two units.
